The main objetive of BUILD2050 is to contribute to improve the construction, renovation and operation of healthy and sustainable buildings at European level through the development of an integrated and transnational training.

The specific objectives are:
(1) Create transversal skills in the building sector knowledge for emerging challenges through an integrated training composed of 8 courses aimed at students and professionals;
(2) Foster the sharing of innovative knowledge and challenges through the creation of a network of European partners in the building sector (entrepreneurs, researchers, municipalities);
(3) Promote the response to the challenges in building sector through the creation of a platform with the compilation of the information generated in the training by the trainers, trainees and associated partners;
(4) Promote new forms of education through the sharing of experience / methodology of creating integrated and transnational training through a European Guide on Advanced Training for Build2050

Activities

The project will be developed in three phases, each lasting approximately one year:
1st PHASE- Preparation of pilot training (02/2022 to 02/2023)

It will be dedicated to the preparation of the contents of the 8 courses which, being sequential, cannot be prepared simultaneously in order to guarantee a profitable, productive and logical sequence among all. The contents will be subjected to an internal and external evaluation so that they can be improved later. The results of the 1st LTTA will allow the contents to be adapted to work methodologies that will guarantee a high practical character of the courses and a strong orientation to respond to emerging challenges in the different areas of BUILD2050.
Throughout this phase, associated partners will be added to the BUILD2050 network, especially those that can offer a relevant contribution to the preparation and evaluation of content for each of the courses.
At this phase the dissemination activities will focus essentially on the training and its launch scheduled for 03/23.These activities will be continuous and developed by the different partners since the beginning of the project. These activities include the 1st ME that closes the 1st phase of the project.
The monitoring and evaluation ativities (M&E), at this stage aims to guarantee the the adequacy of the contents and compliance with the calendar in order not to compromise the start date of the pilot training.
All these activities are intended to achieve the project objective 1and 2.
2nd PHASE – pilot training (03/2023 to 03/2024)
This phase is mainly focused on pilot training, including on the final course work that will be developed by the trainees and that will contribute to the elaboration of an eBook in the 3rd phase.
These works intend to respond to current and emerging challenges related to the building. These challenges will be identified with the help of the associated partners. Also at this stage of the project, the importance of the contribution of the associated partners will be notorious. Thus, the expansion of the BUILD2050 network continues throughout the project and in the post-project as a way to allow a quick and constant update of the contents of the courses that is intended to have a practical and productive character. The BUILD2050 Platform will be created at this stage.
Dissemination activities will be focus on attract more trainees to the next editions and in the training replication by other consortia. These activities include the 2nd ME that closes the 2nd phase.
The M&E activities at this stage aims to guarantee the quality of the next editions and those that may be replicated by other consortia.
These phase will contribute to achieve the project objectives 1, 2 and 3.
3rd PHASE – Consolidation of the training (04/2024 to 01/2025)
The way in which this phase is worked will determine the degree of sustainability of the BUILD2050 training.
It will produce the eBook, the European Guide on Advanced Training that will be hosted in the BUILD2050 Platform. The platform will also host the network created. The eBook will allow to disseminate some of the responses to the emerging challenges worked on by the trainees for the purpose of their practical application and eventually in promoting other responses / ideas. The European Guide (and its Business Exploitation Plan) is intended to suport the training replication by other consortium that expresses interest in doing so. The platform will be the open access repository of all the information generated in the project (such as the contents of each course) and a point of connection between all participants, participating organizations and associated partner.
The BUILD2050 experience will also be shared in three articles submitted in scientific journals. A 3rd ME will close this phase.
The M&E activitie at this stage aims to guarantee the susteinability of the project.
All these activities are intended to achieve the project objective 2, 3 and 4
